After learning to sail at Lake Constance in Germany and becoming enthusiastic about the sport, my journey with our then small sailing boat, a Dufour 31, took two years through the Mediterranean. 
On the way back, I discovered Mallorca, far from the tourist areas, and stayed there. The boat was sold again and I bought a flat right on the water front in a small fishing village on the southwest coast. 
I have spent 28 years of my life in Mallorca, founding and running a successful event agency and raising my daughter. 
She went to boarding school in Germany for the last few years,  and is now an event manager in Frankfurt and runs www.social-with-Pia.com for social media.

I'm not retired yet, but I've decided to travel the world before the bones get tired, life is not infinite.

So it made sense to get back on a sailboat and sail west with the wind at my back. My partner Mike sailed the big crossings alone in the beginning, as I was not yet completely independent professionally. In the meantime I am on board full time, only with an annual break. Once a year I want to see my parents, daughter, siblings and friends and fly back to Germany, where I was brought up and to Spain where I live since many years.
